Old Friends

This photo was taken at my wedding. Me and Amber.

What a gal! She is really an amazing person. No one could ever replace her. I have found that the Air Force brings us friends and then as soon as you have the relationship down- the AF takes them to another part of the country (sometimes another part of the world). In our case the AF brought me to Hawaii and took Amber to Vermont. Talk about being on opposite sides of the country. Her daughter Evelyn was born on the day we left for Hawaii in 2006. I have only gotten to see her a couple of times. They also have a little boy Jimmy; who is not so little anymore! Anyway, I really miss her. I miss her living right down the street. We are still close friends and I know I can always tell her anything I just wish we lived closer. Thank goodness for the Internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. It really IS a bonus to the military life. You don't meet friends like this as civilians. It's sad to say goodbye but at the same time you know that you will always have a bond that can't be broken. Beautiful picture, by the way.

  3. It is true about the friendship thing, My 5 years being around it I have made some really great friends. Then we move to VT where even though my husband is military we are not surrounded by military and it has been harder to make friends I am finding out. But at least I still have my old friends and their blogs :)
