Faces From Afar...

Faces from afar...

I'll tell you why I love this picture. I know that many of you, myself included, don't really think about what is happening in other countries. There are wars, famine, and lack of life happening simultaneously all over the world.

6,353 miles away these Lao workers are smiling and having good time regardless of the environment. Their smiles prove that at least one day out of their life someone said something that really touched them and made them laugh. They are working for a great cause. Seeing them smiling made me smile and appreciate all that life has to offer. I think if we were simplier people we'd be a much happier society. That however, we will never know. Society has taught us that name brands, big homes, expensive cars, and lots of jewelry is what makes us who we are...and the sad truth is that some of us believe that. Everytime your life seems to get in the way of your happiness think of these Lao workers and remember to smile because life really isn't that bad.

The journey is the reward...

Until next time...

Hello 2010!

It has been exactly 2 weeks since the beginning of 2010. Holy Moly! Wow! It's going to be an exciting year. So far, 2 of my friends are preggo! Way to go A.M. and C.D.! There is bound to be another! It always comes in three's right?!?!? I am looking forward to throwing another baby shower!

I am headed to Seattle with my wee one and I get to see my person so I am very excited about that. It's gonna be great! All of it..the conference and visiting. YAY!

Courtney is turning 10 this year! It's a big year for her. Not only is she in the double digits now, but she gets an ID card. This means only one thing to her. She can go shopping at the BX and commissary ALONE and she doesn't have to drag Kyle along. She is very excited about that. LOL She has decided to have an ice skating party this time. We have done the bounce houses and the bowling alley and the pool. Time for something different. I have ordered 24 speciality cupcakes from Cake Couture. I'll let you know how hey turn out! I am sure they will be delicious.

I am headed to another conference in May. This one I am actually a guest speaker and I get to talk about one place I love...JPAC. I love the mission and I am excited to tell others in the forensic community about it! Not to mention it is at an AWESOME resort in the Palm Springs. Can anyone say facial?

On to even bigger news! I know, like how could my life be anymore exciting?Well, it can. I am graduating! Again! This time with a Master of Science in the Administration of Justice and Security! Woot Woot. I will be finito om 12 April and headed to Phoenix in June for the ceremony! Go me!

Courtney is back to playing soccer again so she is happy about that. I am happy to. She needs and extra something to do and she makes the grades so why not. She did tennis for a while and I think she wants to go back to that too but we will have to see when soccer practice is.

I think that is all for now. Kirsten Kandrach reporting.

Until next time...
